This 4 night coastal tour of Fife, with a one detour inland, offers 3 historic Fife courses alongside the spectacular Dumbarnie Links, opened in 2020, which gives a modern links twist to your tour. You will stay in the Old Manor Hotel which is perfectly placed for all golf courses and offers exquisite views of the Fife coast.
Already in Golf World’s Top 50 British Links courses, Dumbarnie Links is the new creation of former Ryder Cup player and golf course architect, Clive Clark. Set on the 5000 acre Balcarres Estate on the East Coast of Fife, Dumbarnie Links looks like it has been part of the Links land for over 100 years. The design has every level of golfer in mind, with fairways averaging 45 yards wide, it gives the casual golfer the space to enjoy the links experience. Whilst the higher skilled golfer can be tempted with tighter tee shots to driveable par fours under favourable wind conditions. Unlike many of the famous, traditional links that play out and back, Dumbarnie’s layout is more akin to Muirfield and Royal St Georges. The course features a figure 8 like layout meaning the wind can be coming from different directions on each hole. This is a must play course when vising the Kingdom of Fife.
Further up the coast you will play at Lundin Links. Lundin is renowned for its beautiful greens and some of the most demanding Par 4’s in the game of golf. A complex links course with open burns, an internal out of bounds (the old railway line), and strategic bunkering, Lundin presents a challenge for the thinking golfer where position from the tee rather than distance will yield just rewards on the scorecard.
Elie Golf House Club and Ladybank Golf Club are your final 2 host clubs where play over Elie Links and Ladybank’s tree lined course await you. The game of golf has been played over the ground near Elie links since the 16th century. Situated in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife, you will struggle to find a truer test of Links golf, with the course hugging the coast, the ocean breeze is always a factor to consider. Ladybank is one of the areas finest inland courses and offers a day away from the wind and the links! After Old Tom Morris laid down its original 6 holes back in 1879, its final iteration of 18 holes was opened in 1962 and was a final qualifying venue for The Open up until 2000.
