DP&L History

Shipping and Tourism

DP&L has a long illustrious history dating back to 1826, a shipping company that took charge of the main shipping routes from Dundee to London.

Carrying a variety of cargo ranging from machinery, food and materials to passenger ships bringing people in search for business and adventure in Scotland. Offering passage from London to Dundee opened Scotland to many and it became an extremely popular holiday destination, with special attractions being the Highlands, Western Isles and the Home of Golf, St Andrews.

Here at DP&L we have been offering our clients golf orientated trips as far back as 1923. From stays in St Andrews to offers to come watch the 1931 Open at Carnoustie, just a few destinations and events we still offer to our clients today. Especially popular, both back then and today, is the harder to reach areas of Kintyre to play Machrihanish and over to the western Isles to visit Islay, a whisky lovers paradise.

In 2019 we began to expand our golfing destinations to include the rest of the UK, Ireland and the volcanic golfing landscape of Iceland, taking the next step in DP&L Golf's history.
