Grindavik
Grindavik is a golf course like no other, with holes substituting rough for hardened lava and, on one hole, a tee shot that starts in America and lands in Europe as it flies over the meeting point of the two tectonic plates! This is a real example of Icelandic golf.
Korpa
Iceland’s newest golf course, the 27-hole layout’s best two 9’s are the Sea and River. The Sea’s 9 holes run along the coast in a links fashion offering stunning views of Esja, Reykjavik’s most famous mountain. The River section moves inland and follows one of the best fishing rivers in Reykjavik, the river Korpa. A challenging course for all handicaps.
Keilir
Situated just 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik in the town of Hafnarfjordur. Winner of the World Golf Awards “Best Course in Iceland” for 2017, skill and accuracy are required to manoeuvre your way around this course with front nine surrounded by lava contrasting vastly to the back nine placed along a small peninsula with views of the Snaefellsjokull glacier and the Alftanes peninsula.
Brautarholt
This 12-hole course has the attitude of a full 18 hole course. Right by the sea, Brautarholt is a dramatic Icelandic links course with views that could rival any course in the world. You will put your game to the test to try and make your way round this beautiful course with lava formations a key feature on a number of holes and fairways and greens as pristine as any major venue in the world.
Oddur
Oddur Golf club, or Oddfellows as it’s known locally, is a championship standard heathland course surrounded by lava from the dormant volcano Burfell, it is a real gem of Icelandic courses and is a regular venue on the Icelandic amateur tour. Rolling fairways and lava formations make a number of the holes a real challenge even the shortest Par 3 in Iceland, at its longest 104 yards, where lava outcrops surround the green just a few yards from the putting surface.
Grafarholt
Golf Club Reykjavik is Iceland’s oldest club, founded in 1934, with their Grafarholt course being played since 1963 after a move from a more central location. It has spectacular views over Reykjavik and out towards Snaefellsjokull glacier, 200km to the north, and is a very diverse course with almost every hole having a very unique look and characteristic. This championship standard course has hosted international events including the Scandinavian Senior Open.
