Grindavik
Grindavik is a golf course like no other, with holes substituting rough for hardened lava and, on one hole, a tee shot that starts in America and lands in Europe as it flies over the meeting point of the two tectonic plates! This is a real example of Icelandic golf.
Keilir
Situated just 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik in the town of Hafnarfjordur. Winner of the World Golf Awards “Best Course in Iceland” for 2017, skill and accuracy are required to manoeuvre your way around this course with front nine surrounded by lava contrasting vastly to the back nine placed along a small peninsula with views of the Snaefellsjokull glacier and the Alftanes peninsula.
Brautarholt
This 12-hole course has the attitude of a full 18 hole course. Right by the sea, Brautarholt is a dramatic Icelandic links course with views that could rival any course in the world. You will put your game to the test to try and make your way round this beautiful course with lava formations a key feature on a number of holes and fairways and greens as pristine as any major venue in the world.
Oddur
Oddur Golf club, or Oddfellows as it’s known locally, is a championship standard heathland course surrounded by lava from the dormant volcano Burfell, it is a real gem of Icelandic courses and is a regular venue on the Icelandic amateur tour. Rolling fairways and lava formations make a number of the holes a real challenge even the shortest Par 3 in Iceland, at its longest 104 yards, where lava outcrops surround the green just a few yards from the putting surface.
Excursions Included:
Hop on/Hop off City sightseeing
The best way to see any city! The city of Reykjavik has so much to see and do, using the hop on hop off bus pass, this allows you to see as much as possible during your stay.
Golden Circle Tour
The Golden Circle Tour is an 8-hour escorted tour to see some of Iceland’s most beautiful and world-renowned sites. You will visit the Geysir Geothermal Area, where its Strokkur geyser shoots water up to 100 feet in the air every few minutes. The Gullfoss waterfall is one of the most famous in Iceland with 3 steps falling into a 100 feet deep canyon. Lastly the UNESCO site Pingvellir National Park is full of geological and historical areas. Here you can see the Mid-Atlantic ridge above ground. These 2 tectonic plates pull the country apart by a few centimetres each year!
Blue Lagoon Experience
One of the most visited attractions in Iceland, the geothermal spa is located in a lava field near Grindavik and not far from the international airport. Rich in minerals like silica and sulphur it has long been said that bathing at the blue lagoon is good for helping skin conditions. It is also used as a research and development facility to help find cures for skin ailments.
