The Classic is back again for another year, hosted in 2027 by DP&L Golf, with this fantastic week long tournament package containing the legendary Carnoustie Championship course, which has been host venue for The Open, the AIG Women’s Open and more recently The Seniors Open in 2024 as well as being one of the host venues for the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, with the other 3 rounds being played over 3 former Open Qualifying courses in the local area. Monifieth Medal and Montrose 1562 Links are two of the original tournament venues and they are joined in 2027, for the first time, by the historic Scotscraig Golf Club. With the recent acquisition by The Ancient Links Golf Company, Scotscraig has had substantial spending on both course and clubhouse and is a fitting venue for our international event.
The Classic, which celebrated its 20th Anniversary edition in 2026, has a loyal following, with golfers entering from all parts of the UK, Europe, North America and beyond. Known as one of the friendliest tournaments in the golfing calendar, the Classic has the challenges, and the rewards which other competitions emulate.
The tournament in 2027 will feature daily competition rounds of mixed format over the four days, these are being fine tuned with the courses but expect to have 2 x Stableford days, a gross score day and a net score day, with one overall winner of the event.
