The South West coastline in Ireland is home to some of the most well known, and must play, golf courses in the country. From Lahinch up in Co. Clare, the legend that is Ballybunion, down to the fantastic Waterville Links in the southern part of Co. Kerry this trip has them all!
Starting off in Co. Clare with a stay overlooking the wild Atlantic at The Armada Hotel, or at internationally renowned Trump Doonbeg Resort, you golf will include championship hosting venue Lahinch, past host of the Irish Open and venue for the 2026 Walker Cup and also Trump International Golf links at Doonbeg, originally laid down by Greg Norman and redesigned by renowned architect Martin Hawtree after being bought by the Trump organisation in 2014.
Next stop in the golfing plan is at Ballybunion, where The Old course is listed by many as No.1 in Ireland and one of Tom Watson favourite layouts. Firstly its the much newer but very spectacular , Robert Trent jones designed, Cashen Course before heading down to Tralee for a stay at the Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa in Tralee. Over the next 2 days you will visit the legendary Ballybunion Old Course before a round at another legendary golfer’s course…Arnold Palmer’s Tralee Golf Club, the first course he designed in Ireland.
Completing your itinerary you will head down to Waterville, stopping en-route at Dooks GC, one of the areas hidden gems. With both views of the sea and the nearby Reeks Mountain range its one the areas most scenic courses. You will then head down to Waterville for a stay at the Butler Arms Hotel, within striking distance of your last course…Waterville Golf Links. Originally a 9 hole layout back in the late 1890’s the course has been transformed over the years into the outstanding course it is today, played and loved by many champion golfers, this course overlooking the Wild Atlantic Ocean honoured Payne Stewart with an honorary captaincy in 1999, and where a bronze stature in remembrance to him stands today.
This is truly a world class golfing experience.

All of the staff at the various courses were very helpful and most welcoming. Members everywhere gave us a friendly welcome and asked where we were playing - excellent hospitality from them all.
